2023 Christmas Beauty Treats: Aesthetician's Must-Haves!

My non-BASE beauty favourites...

Amy x

One of the things I loved most about our Black Friday Sale was that so many of you took the opportunity to treat yourselves. I know we all have endless lists of presents to buy and cards to write for our loved ones, but taking time to prioritise your own treats is equally as important. So whilst I’m all tucked up in the warm, I wanted to share my non-BASE beauty favourites of 2023.

Whether you’re looking to add to your own Christmas stocking or you’ve been asked what you’d like to see under the tree this year, here are my top beauty treats that I’m sure you’ll love just as much as I do. And as an added bonus, they’re all under £30 🙌🏼

Mini Facial Hair Remover

I can very clearly remember the day I first noticed my moustache. I was 12 years old and just so happened to walk past the largest mirror in our house at dusk, when the light perfectly highlighted my newfound, facial hair!!

Since then, I’ve tried every method imaginable to tame the tash and I can tell you, this little hair trimmer is my absolute favourite. It’s pain free, doesn’t require an appointment and cuts the hairs from the root for a 'smooth as can be' finish.

I keep it in my dressing table drawer and whizz over the area about once a week. I genuinely wouldn’t be without it and my newly sprouted chin hairs truly appreciate it too 😂

Sleepy Silk Eye Mask

Sleeping is perhaps my super power. I never fail to get 8 hours a night (unless it’s Black Friday week 😂) and can nap here, there or literally anywhere.

As I’m such a deep sleeper however, sometimes my face ends up scrunched into the pillow despite my desperate attempts to lay on my back. Over time this is one of the major causes of crow’s feet, so I have a foolproof backup plan just in case…My silk eye mask.

This little piece of luxury slips over your face and protects your delicate eye area from any unnecessary creasing. At first I was concerned it’d feel a little claustrophobic, but in all honesty, it’s insanely relaxing and ensures I wake up looking as well rested as I feel.

Face Sculpting Gadget

Now, if you love face massage but don’t quite know what moves you should be doing or how much pressure to apply, this tool is for you. Imagine it a like a supercharged gua sha stone…

On the days I don’t have time to do my full massage sequence, I simply use this tool in upward, lifting motions to tone and sculpt my face. It comes with a built in LED light and gently vibrates to warm your muscles and release any pent-up tension.

It’s so easy to handle that you can even practice in front of the TV as you catch up on the Christmas specials. You’ll look perfectly plumped within a couple of minutes.

Facial Smoothie

One of our most popular blogs this year was the one where I talked about my experiment with wrinkle taping. For those who missed it, wrinkle taping is quite literally what it says on the tin - Tape that stops your face making wrinkles as you sleep.

In the post I said that the most effective tool I’d found for the job was plain old surgical tape, but then I discovered Facial Smoothies. These silicone free, cut-to-size stickers are absolutely perfect and allow you to place them on key areas of your face that tend to crease during the night.

They don’t budge a millimetre and are practically invisible, so no one will even know they are there as they smooth your frown lines away.

I know many of you are still waiting on The 5 Minute Kit for Christmas gifting too and I’m hoping next week I’ll be able to share it’s official return date.

There will definitely be enough time to get them to you before the big day though and in the meantime, you can follow along with my Skincare Advent Calendar over on Instagram. I’m sharing a skin tip a day in my Stories to help you maximise the benefits of your products and keep you glowing all season long ✨
