My 2022 skincare resolutions for you
These are some of my favourite festive days as the pressure is off and it’s acceptable to stay in your pjs until 11, catch-up on Christmas specials and generally, decompress and recharge 🥰
It’s also at this time of year that I love to focus on my goals for the year ahead. In fact, mine were laminated and stuck to the wall mid-December which is incredibly organised for me!
Although not everyone is fond of the New Year’s resolution concept, just a few simple goals, particularly when it comes to your skin, will have transformative effects. So here are my top 3 skincare resolutions to help you in 2022...
#1. I will dedicate 5 minutes each morning and night to take care of my skin.
I read an Instagram post this year by the husband of Sara Blakely (the founder of Spanx) called 5 minutes a day. In it he said ‘Before I had children, I had a friend whose son was scoring 6 goals a game every time he played football. I asked my friend how his son got so good? He said everyday, he spends 5-10 minutes practising with his kid. All the other kids would only play when their team had practice. But those extra 5-10 minutes everyday, was the difference.’

#2. I will speak kind words to myself every time I look in the mirror.
I’m always amazed at the power thoughts have over our minds; our brains believe all that we tell them. If we look in the mirror each morning and quietly highlight to ourselves the size of our pores, that one hormonal breakout or the facial hair we forgot to wax, we immediately feel inadequate and less than.
Instead, practice positive affirmations and watch your whole demeaner change. You don’t have to be gushy or over the top if it feels uncomfortable. Just a simple ‘I’m more than enough, exactly as I am’ has the power to change your whole day. My life changed significantly when I made this deal with myself last year and I hope it has the same impact for you too.
#3. I will stay consistent with my skincare even when it feels challenging.
Even I, as perhaps the most passionate skincare enthusiast you know, have nights where I just want to leave it and crawl straight into bed. But I don’t. With skincare consistency is key and those moments when you do your routine despite your exhaustion, are expressions of self-love.
They truly show how much you care about looking after yourself and accumulatively will deliver incredible results for your skin over time.
And they are as simple as that. Three tiny dedications to yourself that will have your skin looking its best 365 days a year!
