I hope you had the most wonderful time welcoming 2022 whether you were partying until the early hours or tucked up by 10 like me!

It's very common at this time of year for your skin to feel completely parched, lacklustre and even a bit spotty. The overindulgence and lack of routine catches up with our whole body eventually and sometimes we need a gentle nudge in the right direction to get things back on track…so here I am 😉

I know it’s a cliché but, with good reason. The excess alcohol, sugar and dairy produce of the festive season all cause inflammation within your body. This doesn’t just lead to increased redness, breakouts and a dull complexion but also spikes our stress hormones too, which can cause digestive issues and the dreaded brain fog.

I don’t need to say too much about the solution on this one. We’re all fully aware that it involves natural whole foods, plenty of greens and more water than wine 😉

Get your beauty sleep…

If you’re anything like me, you’ll know it’s oh so tempting to catch-up on another missed Christmas special rather than getting some much-needed shut eye. But sleep is nature’s best medicine for our mind, body and you guessed it, our skin.

When we sleep our skin jumps into regeneration mode and replaces damaged, dead cells with fresh, healthy, new ones. Sleep also increases blood flow which accelerates our collagen and elastin production. These are the fibres that are responsible for keeping our skin firm, lifted and youthful.

You know the drill here too. Aim for 8 hours sleep each night and the well-rested radiance will be written all over your face. You’ll feel like a new woman too.

Jump back into your routine…

If the festive season had your skincare routines in a tizz, you’re not alone. My inbox was like a little confessional.
