3 Things I never board a plane without

3 Things I never board a plane without

Jul 5, 2026 Amy x

Today I’m sharing the beauty essentials I ALWAYS pack in my hand luggage 🧳

And if you’re about to jet off on your summer holidays, I promise they are all you need to look and feel flipping fabulous, as soon as that plane lands 🛬

1. Turn it into a tea party

It may surprise some of you to know, that in my gap year I got a job as cabin crew to fund my world travels! And one of the things that surprised me most is that they advised going up 1-2 sizes in my uniform, to allow for ‘in-flight bloat’.

Not only is this very uncomfortable, but it also significantly slows digestion…Which we now know is a recipe for disaster for our skin too. So I discovered the best remedy for soothing it is cups of peppermint tea. I just pack a stash of teabags, ask for a cup of boiling water every time the trolley comes past and it works wonders 🙌🏼

2. Remember it’s a plane, not a spa

Don’t faint when I say this, but if you sit next to me on a plane, I’m not going to whip out my entire 5 Minute Kit. The seats are often cramped, so I do it before I board to balance my skin and then focus all my attention on protecting it from the extremely dry, dehydrating cabin air.

My secret is to to keep The Everything Oil in the seat-back pocket, so I can apply a layer from my chair, every couple of hours. It creates a protective barrier that locks all the goodness and nourishment into my face, whilst keeping all the plane-y germs, out. It’s also magically multifunctional, so I slather it over my lips and cuticles too and always arrive glowier than the summer sun ☀️

3. Snooze like you won’t lose

Will will tell you that my super power is falling asleep on his shoulder on all forms of public transport. And particularly aeroplanes! But we all know how incredibly uncomfortable it can be and how our faces end up in a bit of a crumpled state.

So to fix it, I always pack my big silk eye mask. I wrap it snuggly around my head to fully protect all areas that sleep creases usually show up and it keeps my face perfectly smooth. It also blocks out all the light so you can rest whenever and wherever you need to.

And that’s it! 3 simple products that allow you to arrive looking so refreshed, people will think you’ve already been away 😉

So wherever you’re heading this summer, I’m wishing you safe travels and long, sunshiny days for the memory books ☀️
