This week was a super special one because my sister-in-law got married 👰🏻♀️🤵🏻
She looked absolutely stunning as she’d, quite rightly, been preparing for months. I, on the other hand, was somewhat of a last-minute Larry, not wishing to let the side down as her bridesmaid 🙈
Obviously the 5 Minute Kit had my face covered, but I needed to prep head to toe! So if you’ve got a wedding, holiday or special occasion on the horizon and you’re also running behind, here’s my 48-hour pre-event beauty schedule that has never let me down 👌🏼
48 hours before…
My Nail Prep
I’ve tried gels, acrylics, Shellac, etc. but they all leave my nails flaky and brittle. So I stick to a simple at-home manicure using a neutral, shimmer polish. I’m not usually a shimmery person, but that stuff is practically chip-proof, even if you don’t have time for top coat!
Full Body Prep
Genuinely, I’ve never seen my skin look as smooth as it did at this wedding 🙌🏼 No chicken skin, strawberry legs or shaving rash in sight. I applied Pin Perfect 3 times a week, straight after showering, because damp skin allows it to work deeper and faster.
Brow & Lash Tint
This is my favourite face-framing trick. It makes you feel so put together, even if you’re running around makeup-free in matching bridesmaid PJs 😂 Just remember it’s always tint first, then plucking, to avoid irritation.
24 hours before…
My Everything Shower
Doing the ‘big’ shower 24 hours before the event gives your skin time to settle after shaving places you may usually skip (my arms, for example). And a good scalp massage leaves your hair deeply cleansed and ready for a big, bouncy blow-dry.
Gradual tanning lotion
Full fake tan has never worked out well for me 🙈😂 But a gradual tan applied 24 hours beforehand gives a natural, ‘lit from within’ glow without the subtle smell of biscuits. It always makes me feel more bronzed goddess, less Oompa Loompa too!
A Little 'Tweakment'
Honestly, the TLC Roller makes my face look like I’ve popped to the clinic for a quick ‘tweakment’ 😍 Microneedling gives me the smoothest, glowiest, compliment-inducing skin and can be done even from the comfort of a hotel bathroom.
Now, the morning of…
Ice-cold So-Soft Face Cloth
After cleansing, I run my cloth under an icy tap, press it over my face and it helps reduce puffiness and calm any stress-induced breakouts. It leaves everything looking instantly tighter, brighter and sculpted for photographs too.
Quick Face Massage
This releases tension, softens fine lines and more importantly, gives you a moment to pause before the day begins. I practised during my One Cream Wonder application, to really work it into my skin and it helped keep my makeup in place all day too. You can use the exact face massage I did here.
And Breathe...
On the day itself, I didn’t do a single lipstick touch-up, hair brush or mirror check-in. My only job was to soak up every second and enjoy the magic because it was a once-in-a-lifetime kind of day ♥️

Of course, you’ll be proud to know I still completed my full 5 Minute Kit routine when we got back to the room at almost 1am 🙌🏼
And when we went down to breakfast the following morning, a fellow bridesmaid said, “Well you look very fresh-faced”…Mission accomplished 😉
I hope it works wonders for you too and make sure you pop back next Sunday as we have a very special treat for you! 🥰
